Submitting an abstract

How the Manuscript Studio works, from your first draft to the organisers' decision and the full paper.

Before you start

  • Create a free SHODHX account and confirm your email. Use the same email your co-authors know you by, so the right account is linked.
  • Check the conference page for the deadline, word limit and themes. Deadlines close at the end of the day, India time.

Write your abstract

  1. On the conference page, choose Submit an abstract. A private draft opens; nobody else can see it until you submit.
  2. Write each section: background, objectives, methodology, results and conclusion. The word count covers the title and all sections.
  3. Or upload your DOCX. SHODHX keeps the file unchanged and copies its text into sections that are still empty, matching headings such as "Methods" or "Results". Italics, superscripts and subscripts are not carried over, so check gene names, units and formulae afterwards. A PDF is kept as the original but its text is not copied.
  4. Add keywords, your presentation preference (oral, poster or either) and the conference theme.

Authors and declarations

  • List every author in order with an affiliation. Mark one corresponding author, who needs an email, and the presenting author.
  • Co-authors with a SHODHX account are linked by ORCID iD or email and can read the submission.
  • State funding, any conflicts of interest (write "None" if there are none) and ethics approval where it applies.

Submit

  • Confirm that all authors agree. You keep your copyright and grant SHODHX and the organisers a non-exclusive licence to publish the abstract in the conference abstract book.
  • SHODHX checks that every section is filled, the word limit and deadline are met and the corresponding author has an email.
  • Your submission gets a reference (SHX-ABS-…) and is frozen as version 1 with a fingerprint. It can no longer be edited.
  • You can withdraw a submitted abstract until a decision is made.

Review and decision

  • Organisers invite reviewers. In a double-blind conference reviewers do not see author names.
  • You are notified of the decision: accepted as oral or poster, not accepted, or withdrawn by the organisers with a reason.
  • You see the organisers' note and the reviewers' comments for authors. Reviewer names, scores and confidential notes stay with the organisers.

Full paper for the proceedings

If the conference invites full papers, your accepted abstract shows Write the full paper. The title, authors, keywords and declarations are copied, and the abstract text starts the Abstract section. Add the introduction, methods, results, discussion, conclusion and a reference list, then submit by the full paper deadline. Full papers are reviewed and decided like abstracts.

Ready? Open the conference directory or your Manuscript Studio. Questions about a specific conference go to its organisers; questions about SHODHX go to our team.
